April 1977 Christians from a couple of Waikato towns were invited by friends from the church in Takapuna to the church’s Easter conference in Auckland. The families appreciated the oneness of the Spirit expressed in these meetings and in turn invited brothers from Takapuna to visit them in their own localities. In their homes, together with other Christian friends and family, the Takapuna brothers shared more of their revelation and vision. December 1977 These families, together with others, began meeting in homes in Hamilton as the church, having met together informally for the previous 8 months, and traveling often the 1 1/2 hr. trip north to Auckland to meet with the church in Takapuna. We learned that the church there had been praying for the Lord to raise up some believers in Hamilton to take the way of the church. This was a great mutual encouragement. October 1989 After meeting in homes and rented halls for 12 years the church (with the help of other churches) purchased a large sports complex, to be used for meetings, conferences and children’s meeting. This facility became the New Zealand Training Centre’s venue for conferences and trainings. It is also used by the church for weekly meetings. Currently, the church in Hamilton has four meetings held on the Lord’s Day catering for different language groups and age groups. |
